🏴 Bridging Two Souls: The Green Valleys of Wales and the Heart of Korea
"As the deep songs of Wales meet the warm breath of Korea, we hope our shared daily lives become a grand harmony."
We draw inspiration from the striking parallels between the Welsh language (Cymraeg) and the Korean script (Hangeul). Both languages serve as the noble vessels of their nations' souls, having weathered the storms of history to survive and flourish. This shared resilience forms a profound emotional bridge between us.
Our mission is to open a 'fantasy-like' window of creative experience for our neighbours in South West Wales, sharing the vibrant heritage of Korea.
The Spirit of 'Baimdang' (바임당)
Our service is rooted in the philosophy of Baimdang. This name is a blend of two profound Korean concepts:
-
Baraji : A traditional term meaning to support someone with utmost devotion—much like the spiritual accompaniment in folk music or the selfless care provided to a loved one.
-
Saimdang : Named after Shin Saimdang, the most respected maternal figure in Korean history, symbolising wisdom, artistic brilliance, and nurturing leadership.
Baimdang represents a 'maternal service'—the act of warmly embracing and uplifting others. From visiting local schools to performing traditional melodies in care homes, we aim to be a 'bridge' that heals and connects generations.
"A fo ben, bid bont."
(He who would be a leader, let him be a bridge.)
